328 Katong Laksa

Craving for our local signature dish Laksa? There are quite a number of laksa stores, be it coffee shop or hawker centres, i find it, especially as of 2021, the standards has been increasing and competitions are getting fiercer. Despite the increase competition from other stores selling laksa, there are few who are so unique and extremely hard to surpass and one of them is 328 Katong Laksa.

There are a total of 5 outlets in Singapore and the one i tried is at East Coast area, opposite Roxy Square. And guess what, they have additional 2 outlets in Taiwan too!

If i crave for laksa, i would normally settle it from the nearby hawker as i find it above average and convenient, and the most i will travel to Yishun for the famous 928 Yishun Laksa. This time i decided to go a bit more crazy, so one fine Sunday morning, i travelled all way the way from my house at Woodlands to Katong Shopping Centre where i will walk another 5 minutes to reach my destination and my total travel duration was 1.5 hours!!!

Luckily, i reached around 11am and managed to get a seat easily but i guess maybe due to Covid, it wasn't as crowded as in the past for dine-in which i guess most was ordering takeaway. So i ordered their signature laksa, upsize at $7.50 and their chilli was packed separately for you to add in later.

I tried the soup without the chilli at first, its already fantastic, the laksa broth was rich in spices and well mixed with the seafoods such as prawns and cockles. I don't know how to describe the greatness because i finish the bowl so fast like within 10 minutes and forgotten to process my thoughts on writing about this famous and historic laksa. The coconut milk added in was just right too as the soup is not too sweet and 'milky' but retains the thick texture of the broth.

Further on after a few spoonful of soup, i added on the chilli, few big spoonful and the bowl is empty🤤 And somemore, its rain while i was enjoying my laksa which makes it extra shiok!!! The noodles are cut small so you can just use the spoon provided.

Definitely will return👍
